Beginnings

 

· Self-taught at age 6 by watching high school boys play

 

Competition

 

· After having national success (in both Australia and the Philippines), at age 9 began competing internationally, mainly in the USA, Canada and Europe

 

· Competed in several international opens, closed events, national championships, Zonal Championships and

World Championships from 1996-2002

 

· Consistently ranked # 1 female in the Philippines and top 3 females in Australia

 

· Quit competition chess in 2002 (age 14) as an International Master with a FIDE rating of 2300+ in order to complete university and other plans
